Voice Mail, July 2007 “My name is Chris Edmends , I am friends with Tom Burt…doing a film…would you be apart of it?” I wanted nothing to do with this but since he is friends with Tom I figured I should give him a courtesy call back. So a few days later I called him back and was in the process of denying him when he squeezed in the only two words in the world that could get me to change my mind, “hiking” and “Sierras.” That fit right in line with my desire to start exploring the hart of the Sierras which can only be accessed on foot.

Leeward Cinema is a production company born of a need to find new terrain and help the environment we all enjoy. We are stewards of winter; by human powered means we chronicle snowboarding and the adventurous life it affords us while significantly reducing our carbon footprint.
