It has been so long since I have seen Tahoe really good that I started to wonder if it was a thing of the past. Each day I would wake up half expecting gale force winds or rain to the top. After the second day of knee to waist deep perfection I had had my fix. For four days in a row Ryland and I could not stop hiking because everywhere we looked was so good. We averaged seven runs a day and never had a bad turn. Hiking out at dark as a storm was approaching I had reached a level of fatigue I have not felt in a long time.

What kind of split are you riding these days?

Insane photos! That sunrise is killer. What type of camera are you using and how do you like the splitboard for getting access to these areas? Oh, it’s dumping buckets in Haines. Crazy good snow. I don’t think Sean Dog ran yesterday or today because of it. Pray for blue skies tomorrow!

I split my own boards and they work great. I also use Spark Bindings and they make a world of difference.

Allgood,
Heading to Haines at the end of the month for a split/camping mission in the park.
Ondo,
Lets get out again. Maybe a late spring High Sierra session.

Great picture sets, it tells a great story. Ya get a feel for the run with the sequence shots. I like that sunrise shot with the 1/4 moon.

Matt M,
Thanks for the props. I am freaking out on split boarding. I ride it more then any other board. I just split my new 167 yesterday for an upcoming AK camping split trip.

Sick shots! We have a crew rolling out in South Tahoe on all homemade splits with the Sparks R&Ds, probably the best thing that happened to snowboarding since edges. We pretty much quit riding in bounds and just go for the goods. If your ever in South Shore and need to know where to get it good on the steep n-ne sun protected terrain, hit us up.
