Beautiful words Jer. Well put. I feel the same way. The skiing world lost the most important icon but our community is heart-broken over the loss of such a dear friend and father. I wrote something in my blog with a similar sentiment http://www.truckeerealestateblog.com/?p=162
See you at the lake this summer:)

Well done. A great and deserving tribute. I feel for your loss. My words cannot express what I would like to share with you. I'm happy for your friendship with Shane, it's this type of adventure that gives life meaning, the adventure of our partnership with others that feel what we feel and see what we see in life. Respect, Love and all good things to you and your family. Live a life uncommon....

lose a friend is terrible, but this is the mountain, with his "good vibrations ", emotions, fears and panic situations. you cant't know what can appen until you have finished your run, your climb or your expedition. but the pain is enormous. so you have to think of beautiful emotions and moments lived with this person. these don't disappear with him. "Mt McConkey" in the memory of Shane is an important tribute to your friendship.
