As of today I am no longer working with Rossignol Snowboards. It has been an amazing experience and I want to thank everyone at the company for supporting me the last 19 years. You always gave me the freedom to do what I wanted with my snowboarding. Off the hill I learned a ton about how to develop snowboards from the start all the way to the snowboard shop. This has been my college education.
I want to give a special thanks to Francois Goulet, the North American President. He was pivitol in helping me get Protect Our Winters of the ground and always supported my ideas. It has been an amazing learning experience watching him lead the company.
I have so many great memories from my time with Rossignol and I wish them the best of luck in the future. Hope to see you all in the mountains.

Jeremy,
Your riding has and will continue to be an inspiration. God speed in your future endeavors. I look forward to seeing what you’ve got planned.

what now?

You should definitely hook up with lib tech for a new board sponsor.
Comment by Alex September 30, 2009 @ 11:55 pm
Heard you are with Nidecker now. Is that true?
Comment by Fes October 1, 2009 @ 12:14 am
Also, if you’re not, heh hook up with Lib.
Comment by Fes October 1, 2009 @ 12:15 am
First off, best wishes with the transition.
Second, since everyone has ideas for you, my two cents: Venture or Voile-USA would be a nice fit, but alas, no travel budgets.
Third, I am curious how this will work: Will you still get a piece of the sales of the ‘10 Rossignol Experience?
Comment by Michael Nixon October 1, 2009 @ 6:28 am
What I don’t understand, is why writing such nice words and leaving them
Comment by edd October 1, 2009 @ 6:35 am

I didn’t think I would see the day you left them.
It would be good if you joined Lib Tech then my two favorite riders will be riding for them.

Not sure if this is bad news or good news. But I would assume no matter what is strapped to your feet you will rip the narg.
I don’t know but looking at some of your older posts from the first sesh of deeper that toboggan might be coming back

[...] Big mountain Jeremy Jones left a blog post on Wednesday to let everyone know he was saying goodbye to Rossi. That doesn’t make sense, I love lib tech as much as anybody but they are owned (or at least were) by the same people that own Rossi. Anyway, good luck Jeremy and I can’t wait for the news!

Jeremy,
It was a pleasure to work with you. Pow Mow, the Bird, Basin all great memories. . . I hope we can do it again ! Keep my number and if you get back to Utah and need a lift of any sort let me know.
edd asks why the kind words, believe it or not there are a few people in the industry that live what the sport is really about. In the end it doesn’t matter what letters are on your board, just the smiles of who you are with.
Good Luck with everything!

and i thought you had just re-signed with rossi, perhaps it’s o’neil?
regardless, you were the best thing that ever happened to that ski-guy brand, so we all know that you will land with your feet firmly planted on a new deck sponsor in no time at all.
Comment by JAF October 2, 2009 @ 9:28 am
I left my boring software job on the 30th for a kick-ass software job in the ski/snowboard industry. It makes me happy to know I’m making a transition for the better at the same time as one of the people who has inspired me to go after my dreams. Here’s to new adventures for ‘09/’10.
Comment by Duffy October 2, 2009 @ 10:01 am
well the YES boards are made from nidecker molds so just take a nidecker freeride board and paint yes on the topsheet

So many sick riders have come and gone from Rossi. I’m sure your patience will have been worth it. Nice that you propped Francois. I was explaining good Rossi memories to new shop staff only 2 days ago. One was of fun day at Whistler Heli(thanks Francois!)with you riding in 4 year-old Salto boots. I like the Lib Split Board Rumor. What else…hmmm…Zoom Kaiju?

I hope this doesnt put a damper on the 3rd annual jeremy jones day at the jackson treehouse this winter in the hole!!!! its always a great time.
Comment by slash gordon October 2, 2009 @ 12:14 pm
Well, I guess Jeremy will be doing something like ‘the jeremy jones experience’ as a whole brand in cooperation with Nidecker.
As you all know Nidecker is into helping out the fathers of shred (look at Yes! for instance)
And if he’s not….he’ll be riding a Capita fer sure
Comment by bilbo October 2, 2009 @ 12:55 pm
it wouldnt work if he got sponsered by lib he is strongly pro camber as in his burton speech, idk, im making stuff, up but good luck
Comment by Jeremiah Sullivan October 2, 2009 @ 1:38 pm
Oh you are sneaky Jeremy. But up until recently, if you went to Jonessnowboards.com, it took you to an under construction site. Here’s the archive: http://tinyurl.com/jonessnowboards. BUT NOW, if you go, you get routed to jeremyjones.net… This, in combination with how you talk about your “college education” of the snowboard industry, leads me to believe that you are starting your own snowboard company!!!
This would be straight dope. Hopefully we’ll see some incredible freeride boards, with some possible splitboards in the mix?? Gotta earn your turns… Love it Jeremy. I hope this is true.
Comment by Casey LeFever October 2, 2009 @ 1:44 pm
Good luck with your new endeavors!!! I remember driving you to the hospital so they could sew up the cut in your face up in Terrace. I was impressed that I managed to stay upright the entire time watching. Hope you and your family are well.
Comment by Stella October 2, 2009 @ 1:53 pm
Very off Topic: I know I would be interested and I am sure others would be if you could write a post about about your Preseason training. And maybe how you stay healthy through the season. Just an idea.
Good luck with your new venture.
Comment by Tom Boyce October 2, 2009 @ 1:54 pm

Lib-Tech or Venture… both rock!
Comment by bryantp October 2, 2009 @ 6:52 pm
Sometimes you just have to do whats right for yourself. It’s understandable. Now you are free to follow your own direction.
Can’t wait for the Deeper project and also to see what you have planned snowboard-wise.
Keep the love of the mountains alive.
Comment by Robbie from Australia October 2, 2009 @ 9:19 pm
Venture would be a great fit..but I could see you going your own way and starting a new split-board company/movement. Good luck to you and hit me up if your in Japan this winter?
Comment by Paul V. October 3, 2009 @ 1:02 am
i vote for nidecker, they are more authentic freeride company, with a huge technology behind that jeremy could use… great history 125 years…and as nidecker was never able to promote themselve in usa . taht make sense
Comment by dan. October 3, 2009 @ 4:21 am
I was riding Rossi boards for two seasons in my home mountains, Pyrenees. They were amazing and hards boards, I have one of them like a picture in a wall in my leaving room. Is a Rossi 166 Levitation of 2k year model. Great memories riding with this board…
Life changes, for you is the next step… I hope to see you in new adventures with a new board (splitboard maybe). People like you inspire riders like me around the world, thank you for ride.
Life is a freeride…

So whats it gonna be JJ? Am I gonna be able to get my JJ edition Nidecker Legend or Megalight? or are you gonna show NDK how the split boarders do it ?!?!?

Guys,
Many of you were on the right track. After 19 years of working for a Mega company I decided to do my own thing. I appreciate all your support in the past and in many ways it was this support that inspired to do my own thing. The first round of proto’s are being pressed right now and will be on snow in a few weeks. Thanks again for the inspiration.

My question is … What about the Rossi ‘Experience’ board for this season? Do you still recommend it? I notice in the Deeper trailer the base was branded as Jones, but it seems in production it is branded as ‘Rossi’. Are there other changes that happened last minute due to your departure? I have been riding your boards for many seasons and was stoked to read your review last season about the board the public can purchase now. Do you still endorse it? Is it the same board you rode last season? Your insight into the latest, and final, Rossi Experience is appreciated for a long time rider of your pro model boards. I appreciate your consideration and thanks in advance.
